Yale and other top universities are offering course lectures and materials for free.
The trend to democratize education is an ongoing one. MIT has been pioneering an "OpenCourseWare" program since 2003. Others have followed suit including Yale University which has announced that they will make available for free, videos of undergraduate lecture classes. Support for opening up education to the public has been shown through grants from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation which to date has given over $68 million. Apple Inc. offers a free platform for colleges and universities called iTunes U, that allows educational audio and video content to be made available for download and optional sync to an iPod for learning on the go. Stanford University has already started utilizing this platform to release their lectures and school related materials.

Hi! I would like to know that are free studies degrees are recognised. Since long I am thinking to do MBA in HRM but due to financial problem I am unable to attend regulare studies because I am supporting my family due to which I do not have saving to spend on my professional studies. I have the experience of working in HR Department in Bank of America but I do not have a relevant degree.

Plus the integration with iTunes and my iPod it makes it even easier to actually hear the lectures versus trying to find the time in life to do it.
